Brightly colorful inflatable bounce house has been become main activity for family and friends party.

But as many kids bouncing excited, the bouncing house incidence of injuries is increasing. A recent study by CHOC found that the frequency and incidence of children’s bounce house injuries have steadily increased since 2000.

The report showed children will continue to be injured unless injury prevention measures are strengthened and safety regulations are improved. People always think bounce house is safety,this is a mistake idea.

The researchers said, the number of bounce house-related injuries increased 15 times from 1995 to 2010. And the rate of injury is likely to increase as the quantity of using bounce houses.

According to RESEARCHERS at CHOC Institute,96.4% bounce house injuries minor is abrasions. 35.8% is falling out of the bounce house.

The bounce study found:

Boys (53.9%)were more likely to be injured than girls(46.1%).  

The most reported injuries were fractures (25.8%), muscle strains (25.7%) and contusions (14.5%).  

The majority of children (about 96%) were injured in bounce houses play at home.  

The lower extremities are the most common site of injury.  

Although it was rare for children younger than 6 and older, concussions were almost twice in the older age group.  

Most injuries (70%) occur between May and October. 

If your child must bounce, consider the following safety tips:

Pay attention to ensure the installation of the bounce house, ensure that the ground is flat.

And pay attention to fix the inflatables, which can be fixed with stakes or sandbags (to prevent the bounce house from blowing away in the strong wind).

Proper inflation and weight limits. It should be placed in an open area, away from trees and power lines. The bounce house should have openings or mesh that are wide enough for parents to easily supervise and access it in an emergency.

Prevent children under 6 years of age from jumping.

Younger children do not have the proper coordination to avoid landing in an awkward position.  

Safety Tips for CHOC Bounce House 

Supervision is most important.

Make sure you have a trusted adult supervising your child all the time. 

Jump in very small quantity.  

One bouncer play in the bounce house one time is ideal for avoiding injury. But if other children are eager to participate, make sure they jump in groups of four or fewer children. And all of the same size and weight. This prevents younger children from being over-jumping and falling awkwardly.

Don’t let the child play somersaults on the bounce.

Remove shoes, glasses and jewelry.,etc.

When entering the bounce house, children should remove any clothing, accessories or sharp objects from their pockets.
